The format for writing an informal letter in Hindi, as per ICSE guidelines, is as follows:

  1. Sender’s Address: Start with the sender’s address at the top left corner. This includes the house number, street name, and city.
  2. Date: Write the date below the sender’s address, aligned to the left.
  3. Salutation: Use an informal greeting like “प्रिय” (Dear) followed by the recipient’s name.
  4. Body of the Letter:
    • Opening: Begin with a personal touch or reference to previous correspondence.
    • Main Content: Discuss the main topic or purpose of the letter in a conversational tone.
    • Closing: Conclude with a personal note or a wish.
  5. Complimentary Close: Use a casual closing phrase like “आपका मित्र” (Your friend) or “सादर” (Sincerely) followed by the sender’s name.
